Dr. Brandon Bice

Leading the way at Grand Dental – Lockport is a talented and trusted dentist near Homer Glen, Dr. Bice. His interest in the medical field stemmed from an experience he had in high school after injuring his knee while playing football. Interested in becoming an anesthesiologist, his sister encouraged him to pursue the path of a surgeon. While researching both professions, he discovered oral surgery.

After attending Northern Illinois University for his undergraduate studies, he enrolled at the Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine, earning his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry. Since achieving his dental degree, he has pursued years of continuing education in endodontics, oral surgery, and restorative and cosmetic dentistry.

Outside the office, you’ll find Dr. Bice spending his time with his wife, Maddie, and their toddler twins, Bran and Blair.

Dr. David Ingallinera

Dr. Ingallinera’s 25 years of dental experience shine through at Grand Dental – Lockport. As a passionate and caring dentist near Homer Glen, he enjoys getting to know our patients and helping them move toward a life with better oral health.

Initially drawn to science as a child, he studied biology in college with the intention of pursuing the medical field after graduating. While shadowing his young brother’s orthodontist, he grew intrigued by the profession and decided it would be a great way to help others by transforming their smile and overall health.

Earning his undergraduate degree from the University of California Riverside, he enrolled at Northwestern University Dental School and achieved his dental degree. Afterward, he completed a general practice residency and oral surgery externship.

Since then, he achieved the status of Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) in 2006 – a distinction only about 6% of dentists in the U.S. and Canada attain.

When he’s not in the office, you’ll find him with his wife, Debbie, and their son, Jack. He also enjoys playing golf and being outdoors, especially along the Chicago lakefront.

Dr. Kaiyun Chen

At Grand Dental – Lockport, we are pleased to have Dr. “Kevin” Chen delivering exceptional orthodontic treatment to our patients. Passionate about being able to improve an individual’s smile and oral health, he strives to help them reach their smile goals.

Dr. Chen has always enjoyed working with his hands, and he’s always been interested in the field of dentistry. Believing it to be the perfect profession for him, he began his pursuit in China, graduating from the West China University of Medical Sciences. After immigrating to the U.S., he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Additionally, he completed a five-year residency training in orthodontics and remains an active member of the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.

When he’s not busy straightening smiles, you’ll find him with his wife, Joy, and their two sons, Ben and Jason. They enjoy hiking and fishing, but he is also pleased with reading a good book at home.

Dr. John Micaletti

As a periodontist near Homer Glen, Dr. Micaletti believes in looking at all the options before determining how best to treat his patients. As a professional who works closely with those who need this type of care, he encourages their involvement and works hard to clearly explain what kind of process is involved with treatment.

This level of attention and compassion stems from his childhood – a time when he had to wear braces. His orthodontic team made the experience enjoyable, and it inspired him to pursue a similar field.

With a family heavily steeped in the medical field, he chose to enroll in dental school so that he could help solve patients’ oral health problems. He earned his Doctor of Dental Science degree from Loyola University in Chicago and started practicing general dentistry at our practice’s original Franklin Park location. After returning to school to pursue a degree in periodontics and implantology from Northwestern University, he pursued continuing education courses – something he still does today.

Many of the courses and training he pursues focus on surgical areas so that he can provide only the best, most advanced care to his patients.

As the periodontal specialist in three of Grand Dental’s offices, he enjoys the new opportunity to change patients’ lives.

When he’s not busy in the office, you’ll find him with his twins, Mia and Grant, both of whom are 21 years old. He enjoys bodybuilding and spending time in the gym, as well as growing his own vegetables and keeping up with his garden.

Why Are You Looking for a Dentist Near Homer Glen?

Finding a dentist near Homer Glen you can trust to take care of your smile is no longer a mystery. Our team at Grand Dental – Lockport is here to provide the services you need to feel good about your appearance and know that your oral health is on the right track. Preventive, restorative, cosmetic, and emergency dentistry are all available, as well as tooth replacement, dental sedation, and orthodontics, so you can be confident that you will receive what you need all in one convenient location.

I Need a Checkup & Cleaning

When looking to maintain your smile and minimize the risk of dental decay, gum disease, oral cancer, and more, we provide dental checkups and cleanings. Every six months, we will closely examine your smile and recommend essential treatment options if we find any areas of concern. We’ll also remove hardened plaque and tartar from your teeth and gums to reduce the possibility of gum disease and keep your smile looking and feeling fresh.

I Want to Enhance My Smile

Achieving the smile of your dreams is possible, thanks to cosmetic dentistry. Delivered in the form of custom veneers, professional teeth whitening, metal-free restorations, cosmetic dental bonding, gum recontouring, and crown lengthening, we can enhance your appearance in no time. We require an initial consultation to ensure you are a good candidate for treatment so that you can experience greater success after your smile transformation is complete.

I Have a Cavity/Broken Tooth

There is another way to treat dental decay and damage that doesn’t require tooth extraction. With customized dental crowns near Homer Glen, inlays and onlays, and tooth-colored fillings, our dentists can restore affected teeth and generate beautiful results. Using lifelike materials, outsiders will never be able to tell that you’ve undergone dental work. You may struggle to remember which teeth have restorations, as we strive to create a blended appearance with crowns, fillings, inlays, and onlays that look natural, feel comfortable, and are easy to use.

I Am Missing One or More Teeth

There are now additional ways to treat tooth loss: dentures, dental bridges, and dental implants. While each delivers unique benefits, only one provides a more durable and longer-lasting result – dental implants near Homer Glen. We can provide dentures and dental bridges to restore your appearance and improve your bite force, but if you want a permanent solution that stays in place for decades, we can use titanium implants to replace one or more missing teeth.

I Want to Straighten Their Smile

Whether you or your child has a misaligned bite, crooked or gapped teeth, or needs help to prevent future issues related to oral and facial development, Grand Dental – Lockport has multiple orthodontic solutions. We can provide metal braces, clear aligners, and tooth-colored braces to move teeth into their desired (and healthier) position, as well as create fluid bites that work properly for greater comfort and use.

I Am Worried About Bleeding Gums

Grand Dental – Lockport is pleased to have an in-house periodontist who can provide gum disease treatment at every stage. We can help reverse early signs of gingivitis, as well as perform deep cleaning and soft tissue laser dentistry on cases of periodontitis. In the most severe situations, we have the ability and training to also perform gum grafting and other surgical procedures designed to improve gum health and restore your overall health and well-being.

I Am Nervous/Scared of the Dentist

Dental anxiety doesn’t have to rule your life and ability to receive regular, essential oral healthcare. Instead, you can ask our dentists about sedation dentistry near Homer Glen. We offer nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation, and IV sedation in-house so that you can remain comfortable and at ease while in the treatment chair. No matter what your reason might be for needing this type of treatment, you can be certain that we will create the most relaxing environment while you’re in our care.

I Am in Pain & Need Help

When experiencing a dental injury, the last thing you want is to have to wait for treatment. This is why our dentists at Grand Dental – Lockport are on-call should you experience a sudden oral crisis outside of normal operating hours. We also provide Saturday appointments so that you can get the care you need quickly. We’ll work fast to help you out of pain while also treating the problem so that your smile looks and feels brand-new.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I make a same-day appointment with a dentist?

Same-day appointments usually mean that you are experiencing a dental emergency and need immediate assistance. If this is your situation, call our office right away to schedule an appointment. A member of our team will evaluate the severity of your symptoms over the phone and determine how quickly you need to see one of our dentists.

In the meantime, we will provide first-aid tips to help you alleviate discomfort, prevent further damage, and keep your smile intact until your appointment.

It is always better to call than email, as you will get a faster response, which is what you will need when dealing with a dental emergency that requires same-day professional care.

How many dentists are in Homer Glen?

With a population of more than 24,000 people, Homer Glen has between 10 and 15 dentists for patients to choose from. How much does it cost to get a tooth pulled without insurance?

Tooth extraction can cost between $150 and $400, depending on various factors your dentist will need to review before creating a cost estimate. This type of procedure may require a simple or complex removal process, so the fee will vary from person to person. A few of the things your dentist will consider include:

  • The type of tooth that needs to be extracted
  • Where the tooth is located
  • Whether the tooth has partially erupted or is impacted
  • Whether you will require additional dental sedation

While using dental insurance will help you save more, there are other ways to avoid paying high out-of-pocket costs. At Grand Dental – Lockport, our dentists near Homer Glen are pleased to offer flexible financing through third-party companies as well as a Grand Advantage Plan. This makes it easy to pay a single annual fee and receive access to preventive services and discounts on all other available in-house solutions.

What level of education is required to be a dentist?

If you are interested in becoming a licensed dentist in the United States, you will first need to earn your bachelor’s degree in a major with many math and science courses and receive high scores in these particular subjects. Then, you will need to apply to one of the 67 accredited dental schools throughout the U.S. and earn your DDS or DMD degree. The combination of hands-on experience and classroom learning will allow you to determine whether you want to pursue general dentistry and immediately enter the field or opt to specialize. Whether it’s orthodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, pedodontics, or another area, you can expect to spend another three years undergoing advanced training.

Once you are fully licensed and practicing, you will be required to complete a designated number of continuing education hours to maintain your licensure.
